When are Auditions: Auditions for EBDC’s 2019-2020 Dance Teams will be Aug. 11th, 2019. Each audition is broken up into age brackets.
Do I have to attend the Audition Workshop? No! It is not necessarily to attend EBDC's Audition Workshop but it does give dancers a huge advantage for Audition day as they will be given Audition choreography early so they can perfect it at home. Audition Clinic will Aug. 10th, 2019.
What if I can’t make those dates? EBDC will be holding a Last Call Audition: TBA
What if I’m only interested in 1 style of for dance team? No problem! You can focus solely on that style during the whole audition process
Is there going to be a parent meeting to discuss dance team and commitments? Yes! There is a mandatory parent team meeting on Aug. 9th, 2019.
Once I make team, what will my Fall schedule look like? Your Fall schedule is dependent upon which teams you make. You can see our quick cheat sheet of technique class requirements below. EBDC will place all dancers into their proper level of technique classes.
Can I pick my dancer’s Fall Classes? No, all Team dancers must train with their teammates; EBDC will automatically upon turning in all Company Agreements.
What if my dancer would like a solo next season? Anyone interested in having a Solo, Duo or Trio must Audition in the Solo Rapid Fire Round. In order to be considered for a solo, duo or trio in the 2019-2020 season, dancer(s) must self-choreograph & perform a 30 second routine at Auditions. Please DO NOT request to be partnered up with specific dancer(s) for next season, upon doing so, dancer(s) will automatically be disqualified for a solo, duo or trio. Dancer may choose own style of dance and song. Please bring song with you, already cued up, on Audition day (iPod, iPhone or mp3 device only; no CD's, please) *Only applicable for dancers 7+, please. If dancer makes judging panel wait more than 15 seconds for music to start, they will automatically be disqualified for a solo, duo or trio- No exceptions.
I'm not currently on EBDC's Dance Team but I am interested in taking Summer Workshops, what should I do? Most of our Summer Intensives have sold out but there's good news! EBDC will have many other options for summer classes! Including our Professional Ballet Intensive. You can view our Summer Camps HERE. We would love to see you in our camps so we can start to get to know you better!
We are excited to inform you about East Bay Dance Company’s performance dance team, The Company. The Company is an accelerated program where dancers compete in Regional Competitions and perform at local events such as The Warriors Halftime Show! We compete at National finals in Southern California every summer. Our Team has won National Titles yearly and we have also caught the attention of Casting Directors and Television Producers in the CA area! Dancers train during the school season 1.5-5 hours weekly, depending on the style of dance. They also attend two weeks of summer intensives. EBDC's Company Team requires a large amount of a dancer's time. It is highly encouraged to not participate in any other sports, organizations or classes such as acting, singing, swim team, soccer, etc. EBDC does not accept dancers missing rehearsal due to other obligations such as sports games, cheerleading, etc. Our Company Members are counting on their peers to be present and hardworking at every rehearsal, competition and performance. EBDC does not contract Company dancers who have siblings participating at other Competitive dance studios.
