A nationally recognized, award winning dancer and choreographer, Ashley Enea earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in performing arts with an emphasis in dance graduating with honors from Saint Mary's College of California. At the age of thirteen, Ashley joined her first competitive dance team and was soon thrust into the limelight when she won a spot in the Fatima Robinson, (choreographer for Michael Jackson and the Backstreet Boys,) Learn How to Dance home video. Over the past decade, she has studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop and cheerleading with the most prestigious choreographers on the West Coast. Ashley has performed on stage with Davy Jones, (The Monkees,) was a featured dancer at the opening of The Palms Resort in Las Vegas, the opening ceremony of Disney's California Adventure and the Stars at Sea show for Princess Cruise Lines. Ashley has been teaching her dance curriculum at respected dance academies and studios in the Bay Area for the past eight years. Her passion for teaching has made her one of the studio's most sought after instructors. She loves her student's excitement and enthusiasm about coming to class and thrives on spreading the joy of dance through a safe environment, positive reinforcement, and most of all patience!
Courtney was born and raised studying all dance styles in Massachusetts. Courtney received a Bachelors of Arts in Dance from Point Park University. She has trained dancers of all ages and levels at various studios since 2002. She began dancing at an early age and over the past years she has studied from such notable dancers as Bill T. Jones, Kathleen Hermesdorf, Jason McDole, Judith Leifer-Bentz, Doug Bentz and Gabriel Masson. Since moving to the Bay Area, Courtney has performed for various companies and well known choreographers including Philein Wang, David Herrera, Con Danza and Ziru Productions. She is excited to leverage all forms of dance into her classes!
Ausjoli began dancing at the age of three. She has studied, performed, taught and choreographed ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap and hip-hop in and around New England, where she was born. While in college, she studied under renowned artists including William Evans, Laura Young (Boston Ballet), Gregory King (Lion King on Broadway), Donlin Forman (Martha Graham Company) and many more. Ausjoli performed in numerous showcases at Dean College, as well as the American College Dance Festival and with the Urbanity Contemporary Dance Company of Boston. One of her biggest joys and strengths is choreographing. She had the honor of having one of her pieces chosen and performed at the Southern Vermont Dance Festival. Aside from being an artist, Ausjoli adores teaching. Her students have ranged in age from toddlers to adults. She has instructed her students at Greater Boston dance studios, in a wide range of styles before relocating to the Bay Area. After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance, Ausjoli moved to San Francisco to fulfill her dream of living and teaching in California. Teaching dance comes naturally to her. Seeing her students' love for dance and helping them grow to their fullest potential is her passion. Her motto is: 'Be strong, be beautiful, be you'. Ausjoli is thrilled to be a part of the EBDC community!
Dacia attended London Contemporary Dance School, The Place, in London England. Graduating in 2014, she received her Bachelors of Arts in Contemporary Dance with First Class honors. During her time at The Place, she studied under dancers and choreographers from Random Dance Company, Batsheva Dance Company, DV8 Physical Theatre, Scottish Dance Theatre and the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. After graduation, Dacia pursued choreography as well as performed in Bologna, Italy at the Leggere Strutture, directed by Brigel Gjoka. Here she studied with dancers from the William Forsythe Company and Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima Vez. From there she accepted an apprenticeship with Carabdanza in Madrid, Spain where she worked and performed until finally coming back home to Northern California. Dacia currently is working with Ballet Novita as well as the Nhan Ho Project as well as perusing her own solo projects.
Cat Delos Santos has been dancing since she was a sophomore in High School. Since then she's been training in the styles of jazz, modern, hip hop, contemporary, and belly dancing in various places around the East Bay, including at Diablo Valley College and San Francisco State University. Cat is an avid performer in Bay Area theatre; her favorite credits include West Side Story, In the Heights, Grease, and Tarzan. In addition to performing, She has also choreographed many shows such as Little Mermaid, Jesus Christ Superstar, High School Musical, and In the Heights in the Bay Area Theatre community. She has also worked with Kaiser Educational Theatre touring around to various elementary schools in Northern California. Cat continues to enjoy her years teaching at EBDC!
Colena, "Coco" is a current student at University of Oregon, "Go Ducks!", where she is majoring in Dance and Business. Miss Bailey is a National Title Winner from Next Level Dance's Nationals. She started dancing at the age of three, and has trained in various styles of dance; including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Contemporary. Her past career highlights include dancing on Life Time's hit TV show, "Dance Moms", performing for the Oakland Raiders game, Opening Act Dancer for The Radio City Rockettes, featured Lead Dancer at Half Time for the Golden State Warriors, and Disneyland's "Dance The Magic". Coco Bailey, an East Bay Dance Company Alumni, aspires to open her own studio one day. She loves teaching and inspiring children through her love of dance.
Rhea Speights is a performer, choreographer, and dance educator, specializing in ballet and contemporary dance. She has taught nationally and internationally at universities, festivals, and dance schools, including American Ballet Theatre summer intensives and the Festival de Teatro Santander in Colombia. As a choreographer and dancer, Speights has had the privilege of presenting her work in diverse venues with artists she admires. The San Francisco Chronicle says her choreography "channels an intelligent creativity" and ArtsBHAM describes her work as "a vehicle for vibrant energy and drama." Speights holds an MFA in Dance and a BA in Telecommunication and Film.
Amanda Yonkers grew up in Modesto and began dancing at the age of 5. She has studied Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Lyrical styles of dance. Amanda majored in Biology at the University of California, Irvine and since then has moved back to the Bay where works part-time as an Orthoptist at Stanford Children's Hospital working with children. We are so excited to have Ms. Amanda joining us for our 2019-2020 season!
Lelaina Moniz is a Bay Area native who started dancing at the age of 3. She grew up studying Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical and Hip Hop styles of dance and was also a competitive dancer where she not only won countless awards, but also studied under some of the most sought after Teachers in the Dance Industry. Lelaina is a Media Communications Major at Cal State East Bay and she also works for iheartradio in San Francisco for events and promotions. Her favorite style of dance is Tap, she loves Disneyland and most of all loves sharing her passion of dance with her students. We welcome Ms. Lelaina on her first season of dance with EBDC!
