A nationally recognized, award winning dancer and choreographer, Ashley Enea earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in performing arts with an emphasis in dance graduating with honors from Saint Mary's College of California. At the age of thirteen, Ashley joined her first competitive dance team and was soon thrust into the limelight when she won a spot in theFatima Robinson, (choreographer for Michael Jackson and the Backstreet Boys,) Learn How to Dance home video. Over the past decade, she has studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop and cheerleading with the most prestigious choreographers on the West Coast. Ashley has performed on stage with Davy Jones, (The Monkees,) was a featured dancer at the opening of The Palms Resort in Las Vegas, the opening ceremony of Disney's California Adventure and the Stars at Sea show for Princess Cruise Lines. Ashley has been teaching her dance curriculum at respected dance academies and studios in the Bay Area for the past eight years. Her passion for teaching has made her one of the studio's most sought after instructors. She loves her student's excitement and enthusiasm about coming to class and thrives on spreading the joy of dance through a safe environment, positive reinforcement, and most of all patience!
Monique Altamirano is a dancer and choreographer who holds a BFA from The Boston Conservatory where she trained in Dance and Musical Theater. With over 20 years of dance training, Monique has worked as a National Award Winning choreographer and director in NYC, Boston, and Los Angeles. She began her dance career as a member of a Bay Area award winning competition team that focused in jazz, tap, ballet and lyrical and also trained and performed with various studios around the Bay Area including The Ballet San Jose. After Monique graduated from The Boston Conservatory, she lived in New York City where she continued her career in performing and dancing as a Motion Capture Actor for Launch Entertainment and toured the United States in a Theaterworks National Tour. Monique has danced and worked professionally in television, print and music videos for companies such as Coca Cola, Gillette, Spike TV, Teen Vogue and Poison Pen Records. Monique was the head instructor and choreographer at the prestigious, Adderley School in Los Angeles, owned by television and Broadway actress, Janet Adderley. It was at The Adderley School where Monique directed and choreographed musicals ranging from A Chorus Line, Hairspray, Cats, Bye Bye Birdie, Anything Goes, Little Shop of Horrors, Legally Blonde and many many more! Students under the direction of Monique have been featured in Film, Theater and Television. Most recently on PBS: Andrea Bocelli: Cinema with David Foster and they have also performed selections from The Color Purple for Oprah Winfrey in Santa Barbara, CA. Monique is proud to be a part of the mutli-talented East Bay Dance Co. family and looks forward to empowering and inspiring students through dance and performing arts!
Courtney was born and raised studying all dance styles in Massachusetts. Courtney received a Bachelors of Arts in Dance from Point Park University. She has trained dancers of all ages and levels at various studios since 2002. She began dancing at an early age and over the past years she has studied from such notable dancers as Bill T. Jones, Kathleen Hermesdorf, Jason McDole, Judith Leifer-Bentz, Doug Bentz and Gabriel Masson. Since moving to the Bay Area, Courtney has performed for various companies and well known choreographers including Philein Wang, David Herrera, Con Danza and Ziru Productions. She is excited to leverage all forms of dance into her classes!
Cathrine has been studying in the styles of jazz, modern, belly dancing, and hip hop around the East Bay. Cathrine started her training in dance at San Ramon Valley High School. She is currently studying under the direction of Kimberly Valmore specializing in jazz and modern at Diablo Valley College, where she received the role of a principal dancer for their drama production of Cabaret. In addition, Cathrine has performed in Peter Pan Foundation’s production of Wish Upon A Star as a dancer and a lead singer, and has now received the pleasure of being a choreographer for the Bay Area Magic Makers. Just recently, she co-founded FEARLESS dance and is continuing with them as a dancer and a choreographer.
Dacia attended London Contemporary Dance School, The Place, in London England. Graduating in 2014, she received her Bachelors of Arts in Contemporary Dance with First Class honors. During her time at The Place, she studied under dancers and choreographers from Random Dance Company, Batsheva Dance Company, DV8 Physical Theatre, Scottish Dance Theatre and the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. After graduation, Dacia pursued choreography as well as performed in Bologna, Italy at the Leggere Strutture, directed by Brigel Gjoka. Here she studied with dancers from the William Forsythe Company and Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima Vez. From there she accepted an apprenticeship with Carabdanza in Madrid, Spain where she worked and performed until finally coming back home to Northern California. Dacia currently is working with Ballet Novita as well as the Nhan Ho Project as well as perusing her own solo projects.
Colena, "Coco" is a current student at University of Oregon, "Go Ducks!", where she is majoring in Dance and Business. Miss Bailey is a National Title Winner from Next Level Dance's Nationals. She started dancing at the age of three, and has trained in various styles of dance; including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Contemporary. Her past career highlights include dancing on Life Time's hit TV show, "Dance Moms", performing for the Oakland Raiders game, Opening Act Dancer for The Radio City Rockettes, featured Lead Dancer at Half Time for the Golden State Warriors, and Disneyland's "Dance The Magic". Coco Bailey, an East Bay Dance Company Alumni, aspires to open her own studio one day. She loves teaching and inspiring children through her love of dance.
