Dancers should sign up for grade they will be attending in the Fall
When are Auditions: Auditions for EBDC’s 2024-2025 Dance Teams will be May 21st, 2024. Each audition is broken up into school grade brackets.
NEW! Tap Team Audition Info: If you’re dancer is interested in auditioning for our Tap team, please have your dancer enroll into our Tap Team Intensive June 24th-27th for evaluations. Dancers will audition on last day on Intensive, June 27th, during class time.
How will Auditions be held this year? EBDC will be holding both our Audition Workshops as well as our Company Auditions in-person this year. Dancers are not required but are highly encourage to take the Audition Workshop on May 20th where they will learn MOST of the choreography ahead of time. On Audition Day May 21st, dancer will quickly be taught/refresh the choreography that was taught the day before (5-7 min. max) then the audition process will begin to take place immediately. Both the Audition Workshop & Auditions will be CLOSED from viewing..
Do I have to attend the Audition Workshop on May 20th? No! It is not necessarily to attend EBDC's Audition Workshop but it does give dancers a HUGE advantage for Audition day as they will be given most Audition choreography early so they can perfect it at home.
What if I can’t make those dates? Contact the Office for other options that will take place during our Summer Session.
What if I’m only interested in 1 style of for dance team? No problem! You can focus solely on that style during the whole audition process
Is there going to be a parent meeting to discuss dance team and commitments? Yes! There is a mandatory zoom parent team meeting on May 20th @ 7pm for new Team Parents only. Returning Team Parents will get a video email instead. Zoom link will be sent out on May 20th via email. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see any info.
When will my dancer learn their routines? Dancers MUST be available to learn their mandatory choreography August 1st-11th. 2024. If a dancer can’t make it to their mandatory choreography date, they unfortunately will not be allowed to remain on team.
NEW! All dancers who are placed onto our 2024-2025 Teams must take our mandatory Intensive Workshop July 29th-31st.
Once I make team, what will my Fall schedule look like? Your Fall schedule is dependent upon which teams you make. You can see our quick cheat sheet of technique class requirements below. EBDC will place all dancers into their proper level of technique classes.
Can I pick my dancer’s Fall Classes? No, all Team dancers must train with their teammates; EBDC will automatically upon turning in all Company Agreements.
What if my dancer would like a solo next season? Anyone interested in having a Solo, Duo or Trio can simply complete the Audition Application and notate all of this info. Please note, dancers must enroll into at least 2 group routines in order to be eligible for a solo, duo or trio- no exceptions

We are excited to inform you about East Bay Dance Company’s performance dance team, The Company. The Company is an accelerated program where dancers compete in Regional Competitions and perform at local events such as The Warriors Halftime Show! We compete at National finals in Southern California every summer. Our Team has won National Titles yearly and we have also caught the attention of Casting Directors and Television Producers in the CA area! Dancers train during the school season 1.5-5 hours weekly, depending on the style of dance. They also attend two weeks of summer intensives. EBDC's Company Team requires a large amount of a dancer's time. It is highly encouraged to not participate in any other sports, organizations or classes such as acting, singing, swim team, soccer, etc. EBDC does not accept dancers missing rehearsal due to other obligations such as sports games, cheerleading, etc. Our Company Members are counting on their peers to be present and hardworking at every rehearsal, competition and performance. EBDC does not contract Company dancers who have siblings participating at other Competitive dance studios.
Cheers,
